Separate labor, parts and owner time
Show repair labor, parts sales and any storage income separately. Buyers need to understand margins and the hours the owner contributes to producing them.
An owner who works as the lead technician may need replacing. Distinguish owner benefit from earnings after paying someone to take that role.
Check what the location allows
Prepare the lease, equipment list and relevant operating approvals. A buyer should confirm that the planned use and required permissions can continue after the transaction.
Explain who controls access to work areas and customer vessels. Do not describe a berth, yard arrangement or service agreement as transferable until it has been reviewed.
Make repeat work understandable
Group service history by customer type and job category without releasing identities in an early listing. Note work already booked and deposits already collected.
Agree how unfinished repairs, warranties and prepaid jobs will be handled at closing. The buyer and seller need the same understanding of the obligations being transferred.
